SCARBOROUGH — St. John Paul II Parish announces its Advent / Christmas season special Mass schedules, spiritual programming, fun holiday events, and charitable efforts spanning from November into December. These offerings can also be viewed on https://jp2me.org/advent-2022
Special Mass Schedules
- December 8: Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary Mass Schedule
- December 24/25: Christmas Mass Schedule
Fun Holiday Events
- November 27: Advent Wreath Making. You must RSVP for this event by clicking here.
- December 2–3: Holy Cross School Christmas Fair
- December 6: Lessons and Carols.
- December 8 — Christmas Tree Lighting after the 5pm Immaculate Conception Mass at St. Bartholomew
- December 11th & 18th: Christmas Pageant
Charitable Efforts
- The tradition of collecting mittens, gloves, hats, and scarves for neighbors /families in need in our community will continue again this year. Visit our Mitten Tree page to learn more.
- All three of our churches have identified agencies in our community that need our help by sponsoring them in the Advent Giving Trees program. Click the link to learn more about how you can help.
Additional Spiritual Programming / Opportunities
- On the Sundays of Advent at 5:00 PM at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, Fr. Jack and Fr. Alex will be leading Evening Prayer with Adoration and Benediction.
- A great way to prepare for the Lord’s birth is through the Sacrament of Reconciliation through our regularly scheduled times, and some extra opportunities below:
- Regular weekly confession times
- The Light is On for You Dec. 12–16 schedule

In July of 2020, St. Bartholomew Parish in Cape Elizabeth, St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish in Scarborough, and St. John and Holy Cross Parish in South Portland joined to form the new St. John Paul II Parish. The three churches maintained their individual names under the common patronage and intercession of St. John Paul II. For more information, visit www.jp2me.org.
